Fortunate in success, the company has shared that prosperity by supporting and investing significantly in numerous educational, medical, civic and charitable endeavors, locally, nationally and internationally. Leading the company’s efforts, Joe Walter and Rusty Walter have devoted countless time, energy, and resources to share their success abundantly, and have created a workplace environment encouraging all employees to give charitably.

Serving and donating substantially to Houston Methodist Hospital, Joe and Rusty have served in many Board capacities, with the company generously funding numerous clinical, research and educational initiatives including the J.C. Walter Jr. Transplant Center, the Emily Herrmann Cancer Research Center, and the Coordinated Stroke Intervention and Stroke Stem Cell Research Program.

Joe and Rusty also have served in several Board capacities at The University of Texas, where the family has donated several endowed chairs, professorships and scholarships in Engineering and Geology, including ongoing funding for UT's Walter Geology Library.

The company also has given generously to the Houston Museum of Natural Science, including the WISE Energy Hall and Moran Hall of Paleontology, where Rusty has served in numerous Board positions and committees.
